In short: “top ten children’s fears” dance, best friends, an unexpected exorcism, scary breathing, and a rave.

Remember staying up late, with a flashlight under the covers, just to read one more ghoulish chapter of R.L. Stine's or Christoper Pike's latest scarefest? Remember making your friends scream as you camped out in the living room, recounting to them every gory and hilarious detail of the vampire living next door, the nefarious lawn gnome or the haunted Halloween mask you just finished reading about? Or wait...were you the one screaming?

We remember--and we want to make it all happen again. You won't need your pillow, toothbrush or extra change of superhero underwear this time; but you will need to pull on the fun, magic and fears of your childhood. The artists at Shannon House have re-read all of your favorite scary stories from childhood and devised an original piece where baseball gloves bring disaster, siblings rise from the dead, parents brainwash kids and a first kiss unleashes an evil power.

“We dug deep into the drafty attics and creepy basements of our own selves to create a universal experience of what it’s like to be a vulnerable child surrounded by the horrors of our own imaginations and our real lives,” says co-creator Harry Watermeier. “The team shined a flashlight on these experiences and brought out what was truly threatening and what was ridiculously hilarious.” Four original stories of nerdy, unlucky and tormented kids who, like in the beloved Goosebumps series, encounter supernatural events that challenge their evolving moral compasses.

About Shannon House: The artists of Shannon House are friends that are as good as family. Their bonds were forged when they completed the Arden Professional Apprenticeship during the Arden Theatre Company's 2010-11 season.
