Modern Playground

by Savanah Knechel

Directed by Jessica Schwartz

Travel back to 1999, where rumors of Y2K loom in the atmosphere of a playground. Take a fresh look at how media meddles with our childhood and the adverse affects felt in adulthood. This unsuspecting love story will leave the audience with a desire to follow their dreams. By creating a vibrant, larger than life environment we hope to transport the audience back to their childhood.

We will be creating an experimental environment that will take us to a world of a 90's playground. The production will not take place in a conventional theater. We will be using alternative lighting and fun unusual seating. It will be an explosion of bright neon colors similar to Lisa Frank and everything made out to look like a well-made craft project.
