Description

A tale of murder, revenge and musical theater. Join the bloodthirsty quest of Greg and Mike, two actors hungry for fame and fortune in a mid-level regional market. With the help of Bechtel, psychotic theater buff and freelance assassin, they’ll either take over Philadelphia theater or die trying.

///////

Jeff Coon and Ben Dibble Must Die marks the first original project by Los Jarochos, a performance group made up of Barrymore award-winning Philadelphia theatre artists Alex Bechtel (My Way, This Is The Week That Is), Mike Doherty (The History Boys, 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee) and Greg Nix (25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, This Is The Week That Is). Collectively, they have been seen on dozens of stages throughout the region. Directed by Amy Dugas Brown, former associate artistic director of the Arden Theatre, their first piece takes a satirical look at the feelings of jealousy that artists routinely fight. Combining original music, multimedia, improvisation and sketch comedy into a traditional theatrical structure, Alex, Mike and Greg are excited to bring their unique voices to the Philadelphia arts community. But most of all, they look forward to delving into the money sucking pit that is self-production. Join them, won't you?
