ABOUT ABOUT

Tensions rise in this spicy dramedy when lovelorn Char butts heads with Elaine, the girlfriend of her old high school flame, Samson. Add a spoonful of secrets, coarse-ground language, a heaping helping of hilarity, and cook under heavy pressure.

The maiden voyage of Philly-born performance company Salamé Studios begins in 2013 with the world premiere of GET OUT OF THE KITCHEN, an original one act play. Originally conceived in less than 24 hours for Temple University’s Insomnia Theatre, this completely revamped one-hour iteration of KITCHEN contains twice the laughs, double the drama, and more than a handful of surprises.

Char's a sardonic college senior in band geek recovery off to her old high school flame, Samson. But something's not right: who's this smiling Raffi wannabe moving in on her crush? Before Char and Samson's new girlfriend, Elaine, have time to debate, they're having some "quality time" making the man of the house a big pot of his favorite chili. Comedy, comic books, and coarse language combine as the ladies struggle to reconcile their situation…and that’s before they crank up the heat! Will they get closer or just kill each other? What other "fun" does their gracious host have in store for them? Once thing’s for sure: when the chili starts cooking, you can’t stop looking!
