360º Dance Company, a New York-based company comprised of former principal dancers from the Martha Graham Dance Company and other artists, is dedicated to combining the great classics of modern dance with cutting-edge contemporary commissions. The 360º Dance Company will feature two contemporary works and two historic works. Near Dark, a new work by Artistic Director Martin Lofsnes is based on the writings of Norwegian painter Edvard Munch. This work creates a visual landscape in five diverse sections. Using projections to further enhance the atmosphere, the audience is taken on a journey of unusual images and dynamic movement. Purpura is a dance theater work with text and choreography by Ricardo Flores. This work follows a man swirling through images of hopes, dreams and memories; striving to come to terms with the inevitable passing of time. Historic works presented are Tennant of the Street (1938) by Eve Gentry, a solo that pulls the viewer into the inner world of a homeless woman on the street and Time is Money (1932) by Jane Dudley, which depicts images of the devastation experienced in America in the early 1930s, set to a powerful poem by Sol Funaroff. This solo presents a striking example of the current timeliness of the many political still relevant today.

Dancefusion, a Philadelphia based modern dance company celebrating 25 years is dedicated to both reconstructing the rich history of modern dance and creating new innovative choreography. Dancefusion will present the revival of Pauline Koner’s Concertino (1956) which uses the flavor of court dances to depict three facets of a ladies life from the Reniassance, along with a new work That which is left unsaid by Anna Troester. This work for seven dancers, explores the shifting landscapes of the meandering, chaotic and conflict-laden aspects of city life. Two works from Dancefusion’s 25 year repertory will also be presented Three Women by founding company member Suellen Haag, inspired by 20th century cubist Ferdinand Leget's painting of the same name and The False Mirror by Joe Cicala, a movement theater work based on the surrealist paintings of Rene Magritte. This work is often humorous and explores changes in perspective and what happens when ordinary objects are place in different environments.
